Within this business, we exclusively purchase tobacco leaf products from Chinese Mainland and overseas entities under China Tobacco for sales in the Southeast Asia, Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan markets, as well as exclusively purchase tobacco leaf products from major global tobacco-producing regions for sales in the Chinese Mainland market.
Indonesia
Indonesia has a large production of tobacco leaves, with a rich variety of types, including flue-cured tobacco and various air-cured tobacco. Indonesia has a wide range of planting varieties. The cigar tobacco planting season is divided into dry and rainy seasons. The main producing areas are Java and Sumatra islands.
Dominican Republic
The Dominican Republic, known as the "Cigar Kingdom," is a globally important producer of cigar tobacco leaves. Tobacco planting is mainly concentrated in the northwest and central regions of the country.
Zambia
Zambia is one of Africa's major flue-cured tobacco leaf producing countries. The planting season generally lasts from September to April of the following year.
Argentina
Argentina is an important tobacco leaf producer in South America, primarily producing flue-cured tobacco and burley tobacco. The main flue-cured tobacco producing regions are concentrated in Jujuy and Salta. The planting season typically starts in June and continues until February of the following year.
the United States
The United States is one of the world's major tobacco leaf producing countries, mainly producing flue-cured tobacco, as well as burley tobacco, cigar tobacco, etc. The main flue-cured tobacco producing area is located in North Carolina. The planting season usually starts in March and lasts until October of the same year.
Brazil
Brazil is the world's second-largest tobacco leaf producer and the largest tobacco exporter, mainly producing flue-cured tobacco and burley tobacco, along with other air-cured tobacco types such as Galpao and cigar tobacco. The major flue-cured tobacco producing regions include Rio Grande do Sul, Santa Catarina, and Paraná. The planting season generally begins in July and lasts until February of the following year.
China
China is the world's largest tobacco leaf producer, mainly producing flue-cured tobacco, as well as various types of air-cured tobacco such as oriental tobacco and burley tobacco. The planting areas of flue-cured tobacco are widely distributed, with major producing provinces including Yunnan, Guizhou, and Sichuan, etc. The planting season typically starts in February and lasts until August of the same year. Oriental tobacco and other air-cured tobacco are primarily produced in provinces such as Yunnan and Hubei.
Malawi
Malawi is one of Africa's major tobacco producing countries and the world's largest producer of burley tobacco. The burley tobacco planting season in Malawi usually starts in October and lasts until July of the following year.
Tanzania
Tanzania is one of Africa's important flue-cured tobacco leaf producing countries. The main flue-cured tobacco producing areas are distributed in the Tabora and Mpanda regions. The planting season usually starts in November and lasts until April of the following year.

Subsidiary Company
In 2021, CTIHK acquired China Tabaco Internacional Do Brasil Ltda.(“CTIB”) and effectively holds a controlling stake in its subsidiary, China Brasil Tabacos Exportadora S.A. (“CBT”). CBT carries out tobacco leaf production, purchasing, processing, sales, and export business in the core tobacco-producing regions of Brazil. With over 20,000 contracted farmers, CBT purchases more than 60,000 tons of raw tobacco leaves annually and has a wide range of markets and customers.
